Dalveer Bhandari of India has been re-elected as the judge of the International Court of Justice

Born on October 1, 1947, Bhandari has been related to the lawyer family. His father Mahavir Chand Bhandari and grandfather B. K. Bhandari were members of the Rajasthan Bar. He took a degree in Humanities and Law from Jodhpur University. From 1968 to 1970, he practiced in the Rajasthan High Court. Dalveer Bhandari, who went to participate in a workshop held in Chicago in June 1970, served in many countries. Given his outstanding contribution in Law and Justice, Tumkur University, Karnataka gave the Doctor of Law (LL.D) degree.After returning to India, he practiced again in the Rajasthan High Court from 1973 to 1976. Then came to Delhi in 1977, while progressing, he became the judge in the Delhi High Court. On July 25, 2004, he was appointed Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. A year later, he became the supreme court judge on October 28, 2005.

In January 2012, he was nominated by the Indian Government as his official candidate in the International Court of Justice. In the election held on April 27, 2012, Bhandari got 122 votes in the United Nations General Assembly, while his opponent was 58. On November 20, 2017, he has been re-elected as the Judge of ICJ. They were against Britain's Christopher Greenwood, but Britain withdrew the candidacy of Greenwood to see the atmosphere in favor of India.
