Jaitley's big announcement in education sector in budget 2018

New announcement in budget 2018 for education sector:

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, while expressing concern at the level of education in the budget, made several announcements. He said quality of education is still a big challenge. Jaitley said that the government wants to see from the pre-nursery to the 12th class overall, due to which development can be done in the field of education.

Jaitley's other big announcement on education:

  1. 16 new planning and architecture schools in IIT and NIT will be established in Autonomous Mode.
  2. Many work is done under the National Social Assistant Program.
  3. To improve the level of teachers
  4. Digital Intensity will be promoted. The integrated BEd program will also start.
  5. More than 13 lakh teachers are expected to be trained.
  6. In the path of this goal, technical digital portal 'initiation' will help
  7. Eklavya School will open for tribals on the lines of Navodaya Vidyalaya.
  8. Plan for setting up of institutes of eminence.
  9. Proposal for establishment of Railway University in Vadodara.

New colleges:

In addition to this, the government will upgrade the district level medical colleges and hospitals and create 24 new medical colleges and hospitals. The Government will start the Prime Minister's Research Fellows Scheme in which 1000 BTech students will be selected and they will be given an opportunity to do PhD from IIT. Apart from this, planning and architecture will be started, along with 18 new IITs and NIITs will be established.

Eklavya School:

Jaitley said that residential blocks for tribals will be established in such blocks where the population of tribals will be more than 50 percent. These schools will be residential schools on the lines of Navodaya.
