Despite the new aggregate cutoff, the reputation of the IIT remains intact

Despite the new aggregate cutoff, the reputation of the IIT remains intact not compromised by maths, chemistry and physics.

JEE Advance exam which is considered the best in the world, the stain of extracting the extended merit list by deducting the aggregate cutoff is undoubtedly, but the IIT management did not let the IIT's credentials and merit get affected even after the HRD pressure.

Subject Merit minimizes not less than 36 points

The JEE Advanced examination was 360 points, in which Maths, Physics and Chemistry were 120-120 points per subject. Students are compulsorily taking 36 pass marks in all three subjects, i.e., if there is no pass percentage in any subject, then no place is available in the merit. Under this, 12 marks in Mathematics for general category, 12 marks in chemistry and 12 marks in physics were less than mandatory.
While 11 marks for OBC, 6-6 marks for SC, ST and PWD and pre-departmental course rank list (ST class students do not come in Marit, they get B.Tech teaching after IIT one-year training) 3- 3 digits were minuscule. During the extended merit list the total pass percentage was reduced in percentage points but no marks were reduced in the subject merit cutoff.

At the same time, IIT's former director Prof. Sanjay Dhandhe said that the decision of course is shocking for the IIT but it has been taken due to a lack of qualified list of SC and ST students. The government gives equal status to SC and ST students, in this case their seat vacancies are wrong message. It should be welcomed instead of a wrong decision that no seat is vacant.
